Bake Sale Results

Genesis 41: 30 
And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

I know it's been a while since my last post but I've been busy with lots of other things consuming my mind and time.  I did not get the results I was hoping for with my bake sale, however, I did make some money for what few items sold.  I was disappointed with my bake sale results but I am proud of myself for finishing something that I started.  I did it with to the best of my abilities and with what resources and finaces I had available at the given time.

As promised the money made from the bake sale was donated to the American Red Cross for the Tornado victims of Joplin, MO. 

Hopefully, I can over the next few days get caught up on posting.  I prefer not to sit here and post a big post, jump around in subjects, so I will post as time allows me to post on the things I choose to share with the www. 

Bake Sale Items

Deutoronmoy 28: 2--And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

While organizing this bake sale for the Joplin, MO. torado victims, I find myself finacially struggling to put this together and making sure my families needs are meet.  While advertising for the bake sale, the Lord provided a need.  One of the newspapers that I put an ad in did not charge me anything to advertise because this bake sale is a benefit sale.  That really just made my day and made it possible for me to add a few extra things on the list to provide some yummy treats for the community to enjoy.
I am so excited about having this bake sale.  Just a friendly reminder that the proceeds will benefit the Tornado victims of Joplin, MO.  I will be donating all sales from the bake sale to the American Red Cross.

Here is a list of items that I plan on having at the bake sale:
*Peanut Butter Fudge
*Brownies
*Reese Cups
*Cracker Jacks
*Peppermint Patties
*Nutter Butters

If time allow for it.  I would like to make three speality cakes:  A Chocolate Ice Box Cake and a Cheese Cake, and a Strawberry Daiquari Cake (no alcohol)

It's final.  The date and location have been set with two ads in the local papers.  The bake sale is going to be Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 214 Boone St. Berea KY.  So come out and support the cause.  All proceeds is going to be donated to the American Red Cross to benefit the Tornado Victims of Joplin, MO.

Now I have a lot of preparation to get ready for this.  I'm making out my list of items that are going to be sold at the bake sale.  Any volunteers?

Bake sale date set

Bible Verse of the Day:  James 1:  2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

The date for the bake sale is on Saturday, June 11, 2011.  The bake sale will begin around 9am (my son and I are not very early birds...lol).  It will run as long as we can hold out or as long as items are available.  I may also combine a few things here at the house like Jeremiah's toys, clothes, items we just don't need anymore and take the opportunity to get rid of them. 

All proceeds made from this bake sale is going to the American Red Cross to help the victims of Joplin MO. 

Now at this point, all I need is help from anyone who wants to devote some time to this.  You can help by baking thing to sell, donate items to be sold, donate because you want to give,...money or time.

All will be appreciated.

Baking for a Cause-Recruiting Stage

Bible Verse of the Day:  Daniel 5: 17 
Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.

While trying to organize this event and recruit others to help, we are delayed with a virus bug.  My son has been sick since Saturday, and now I am off work with this yucky thing.  Hopefully it won't last long and we can get back to buisness. 

I will send out emails today...recruiting friends and familiy.  I will also set the date.  I have a location in mind, but I will need to call and make arrangements to utilize that space. 

Knowing the day is a wonderful day the Lord had made.

Baking for a Cause

First of all this is my first official blog.  I’m so excited to “blog”.  Enjoy reading.  Comments welcome.  As my daddy always said, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”; oh yeah, if my grammar is incorrect, just make the most of it.  English is not my forte.
Bible Verse of the Day:  Matthew 11:28-30 KJV “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:  and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burdens light.”

As I watch the news about all of the DEVISTATION of Tornadoes and Floods that have ripped through our country, I am heartbroken, counting my blessings, and I want to cry but I don't know for who.  Should I cry because this tragedy escaped my family and homeland?...the families who lost everything or a loved one?...Or should I cry for the children whose world has been torn up side down.  Child development teaches us that children are very resilant but is that enough for them to rebuild their lives?  As I watch my son run and play I think about what can someone such as I do to help aide...and to whom shall I trust once money is exchanged? 

Therefore, I am pledging to have a bake sale in my local community and give all the proceeds to the American Red Cross.  This is the only organization that reminds me of the Marines...on the front line.
